Implementation Considerations
- Data Sensitivity
Do not upload documents containing personally identifiable information (PII), confidential information, or protected health data. NotebookLM is not authorized for handling regulated data under Georgia’s Data Classification Standards. - Accessibility
NotebookLM outputs are text-based and generally accessible. However, ensure outputs used in public documents or websites follow WCAG 2.1 and Section 508 standards. - Account Use
NotebookLM is tied to personal Google accounts and not managed through enterprise agreements. Agencies should treat it as an exploratory tool and use it only for low-risk, internal use cases. - Transparency
Any insights generated using NotebookLM should be reviewed and validated by a human. Agencies should not use it as a sole source of truth or publish AI-generated outputs without review.

NotebookLM Guidance for Use
GTA recognizes NotebookLM as an experimental AI-powered research and summarization tool developed by Google. It enables users to upload source materials (documents, PDFs, notes, and more) and generate summaries, insights, or ask questions based on those materials.
This guidance is designed to help Georgia state agencies understand when and how NotebookLM can be used responsibly in alignment with Georgia’s AI standards and principles.
