The GTA + AWS Generative AI Accelerator is a team-based learning and innovation program designed to help Georgia agencies build practical AI skills while exploring real business challenges.

Over the course of the program, agency teams will participate in guided generative AI learning, cross-functional collaboration, and structured innovation activities. Teams will apply what they learn about large language models, generative AI, agentic AI, and related capabilities to shape an Innovation Idea connected to an agency business challenge or opportunity.

The accelerator format combines learning, competition, and practical application. Teams earn points by participating in AI training activities, completing tailored learning pathways, and applying new skills to their Innovation Idea. As the program progresses, teams refine their ideas using AWS’s Working Backwards approach and prepare to present their concepts during a final celebration and review event.

The goal is to help agencies strengthen AI readiness, build confidence with emerging technologies, and identify promising opportunities for responsible AI-enabled improvement across state government.
